About Us

We live by two cardinal truths. First, life’s greatest moments and opportunities for growth lie outside of your comfort zone. Second, developing as a leader is much easier and more fun when empowered by a supportive community. SEE(k) D(iscomfort) First-Year Leadership Organization, or SEED, was created with these beliefs in mind.

Our FLO serves to develop first-years into leaders by pushing them to intentionally seek discomfort while being surrounded and supported by their fellow members. Through weekly meetings, activities, and events, we target topics that contain real opportunities for leadership development and growth in a way that encourages members to dream bigger, push past their perceived limits and unlock their full potential.

Many incoming first-years describe college as a time in which they want to make an impact on campus, do things they’ve never done before, and find what they’re truly passionate about. SEED structures its learning outcomes around these aspects so that members are getting what they want out of the first-year experiences and setting themselves up to be successful throughout the rest of college, and their lives.
